The Special Needs Network successfully hosted its 18th Annual Pink Pump Affair at the iconic The Beverly Hilton, bringing together celebrities, community leaders, advocates, and philanthropists for an unforgettable afternoon centered around empowerment, advocacy, and community impact.

This year’s “Carnival”-themed celebration once again proved why the Pink Pump Affair has become one of Los Angeles’ premier spring charity events. Guests gathered for an elegant high tea luncheon, a dazzling fashion showcase, inspiring award presentations, and powerful fundraising efforts benefiting underserved families and children with autism and developmental disabilities.

A major highlight of the afternoon came when Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass took the stage to deliver remarks to attendees, emphasizing the importance of supporting organizations that advocate for inclusion, equity, and resources for families navigating developmental disabilities. Her appearance added to the significance of the annual event, which continues to grow in both visibility and impact across Southern California.

Honoring Women Making a Difference
The annual Women of Distinction Awards recognized several influential women whose work continues to create meaningful change across entertainment, philanthropy, advocacy, and community leadership.
Honorees included:

Renata Simril, honored with the Trailblazer Award for her leadership and commitment to youth and community development.
Dani Bowman, recipient of the Everyday Advocate Award for her continued work promoting autism awareness and inclusion. Bowman is also widely recognized for appearing on Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum.
Continuing a Legacy of Advocacy
Led by renowned civil rights attorney, author, and television personality Areva Martin, the Special Needs Network continues to make a major impact through advocacy, education, and support services for families affected by autism and developmental disabilities.
Now in its 18th year, the Pink Pump Affair remains a powerful reminder of what can happen when philanthropy, community leadership, and entertainment come together for a meaningful cause.
