ESSENCE Festival of Culture, presented by Coca-Cola, has officially kicked off today in the New Orleans Convention Center! Where we heard from ESSENCE and Coca-Cola executives, Mayor LaToya Cantrell, and more powerful voices setting the tone for the weekend.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell shared exciting news about ESSENCE Fest’s future and the unforgettable experiences ahead. This festival is all about joy, culture, and unity. She expressed at the Kick off Press Conference.

Chief Content Officer of Essence, Michele Ghee expressed how honored she was honored to serve women of color and be a part of an amazing platform like Essence that celebrates and uplifts black women.

As ESSENCE Festival of Culture® presented by Coca-Cola® returns for another unforgettable year, coinciding with the 55th anniversary of ESSENCE Magazine’s inaugural issue, this year’s Festival draws inspiration from our cultural affirmation — “Made Like This.” In a world that often seeks to confine and define us, we boldly embrace our boundlessness.
