Meagan Good, Patti LaBelle and Tyler Perry Honored at Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards Celebrating Black Excellence

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — The 6th Annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards brought together some of the most influential figures in entertainment, business, music and activism for a powerful evening dedicated to celebrating Black excellence.


Held at The Beverly Hilton on June 5, the star-studded event honored trailblazers whose work continues to inspire culture and create meaningful change. Hosted by comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish, the ceremony recognized outstanding achievements across entertainment, entrepreneurship, community leadership and philanthropy.


Among the evening's most notable honorees was Meagan Good, who received the Spirit Award for her contributions as an actress, producer, entrepreneur and advocate. During her acceptance speech, Good reflected on resilience, faith and the importance of using her platform to uplift others. Her message resonated throughout the ballroom, emphasizing purpose, compassion and community.


Media mogul and filmmaker Tyler Perry was presented with the Innovator Award, recognizing his groundbreaking impact on film, television and Black storytelling. Perry used his moment on stage to speak about unity, empowerment and the importance of protecting opportunities for future generations.


Music legend Patti LaBelle received the prestigious Legacy Award, honoring her remarkable career spanning more than six decades. Presented by media personality Angie Martinez, the tribute celebrated LaBelle's enduring influence on music, culture and generations of artists who followed in her footsteps. Accepting the award, the iconic singer expressed gratitude for the recognition and reflected on the dedication required to sustain a legendary career.


Additional honorees included Kirk Franklin, who received the Inspiration Award; Kehlani, honored with the Fearlessness Award; Bozoma Saint John, who received the Pioneer Award; Justin Jones, honored with the Community Award; and RZA, who received the Culture Award.


The evening featured unforgettable performances from artists including Chlöe Bailey, Kierra Sheard and Joyner Lucas, while surprise moments throughout the show kept attendees energized and engaged.


Founded by media entrepreneur Jason Lee, the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards continue to serve as a platform that celebrates individuals using their influence to create positive change within the Black community and beyond. The event also highlighted the work of the Hollywood Cares Foundation, which supports underserved youth through leadership development and community-focused programs.


As Black excellence took center stage once again, the 2026 Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards proved that impact extends far beyond entertainment. From inspiring speeches to unforgettable tributes, the evening served as a reminder that culture-shifting leadership, creativity and service deserve to be celebrated.
