The 2025 Billboard Women in Music award, held on March 29 in Los Angeles, celebrated the influence and contributions of women across the music industry. Hosted by Laverne Cox, the evening was filled artists and industry leaders being honored and receiving their flowers for all their hard work and dedication to making an impact in the industry.

This year’s honorees included Doechii as Woman of the Year, Erykah Badu receiving the Icon Award, and Tina Knowles receiving the award for Mother of the Year. Music and Fashion

As I was writing this article, I briefly considered how music and fashion have shared a symbiotic relationship for decades, each reflecting and influencing the other.

Iconic musicians like Elvis Presley, Madonna, and Michael Jackson are all fashion icons. When you think of Michael Jackson, his shiny glove that he performed in always comes to mind, or Madonna's iconic pointy bra that she performed in.

This year, artists also used their distinct fashion and style to make bold statements on the red carpet.

Tina Knowles AKA Beyoncé's Mom, was a show stopper on the red carpet this year making a bold statement that her age which is 70, does not mean you can't be a showstopper and sexy!

Songstress Tyla graced the red carpet in a black see-through knit dress by Jean Paul Gaultier. The gown also had a long train that fell behind her with spring lime-green nails giving the outfit a pop of spring for the night!
