There’s a war happening—and it’s not the one you think. It’s a battle fought every day by women who wear shoulder pads and cleats, not just for the love of the game, but for the fight to be seen, respected, and valued. Welcome to the world of Cali WAR Women’s Football, where passion meets purpose, and every yard gained is a step forward for all women in sports.
Cali WAR is more than a team—We are a movement. We represent the fiercest competitors in Los Angeles who play full-contact tackle football in the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), the largest and most competitive women’s football league in the world. And while our season officially kicks off Saturday, April 26th, in Reno, this journey started long before game day.
What makes this team extraordinary isn’t just our talent—it’s our tenacity. These women don’t get paid to play. They pay to play. Yes, you read that right. They fund their own uniforms, travel, training, and equipment just for a chance to step on that field. They train and compete like professional football players in other professional leagues.

But still, we show up. Game after game. Season after season. Why? Because football is more than a sport for us—it’s therapy. It’s healing. It’s power. Many of our athletes have overcome personal trauma, life-threatening illnesses, discrimination, and societal doubt. The field has become a place of release, of sisterhood, of rising above everything that was meant to break us. And together, we are unstoppable.
This is why women’s tackle football deserves your attention— and your support. We’ve been here. We are not new. We are true. The game has evolved, but our heart remains the same. We’re rewriting what it means to be a woman in sports. We’re shattering stereotypes and creating a path for the next generation of girls to know that they, too, belong on the field.
Our ask is simple: Stand with us. Cheer with us. Fight with us.
Join us on May 10th at St. Bernard’s High School in Los Angeles for our home opener game for our 2025 season with the kind of energy, athleticism, and raw emotion that only Cali WAR can bring. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your voice. We need you in the stands. We need your love in the crowd. And we need your support in this movement.
